Description

Aaah. Squares and my favourite invertebrate: A ladybug.
I know, this week has just begun, but I am sure it will be great!
This ladybug could be considered as a little reflection of myself (I cannot be seen in the picture, though! ^^; ). I am a bit shy in the beginning, hiding behind a stone. But when I trust someone, I show my complete character. :aww:
I hope you like it.

What a beautiful shot! I absolutely adore the little backstory included, it certainly adds more to it than originally.
I certainly feel the shyness of the invertebrate, it's 'hiding' behind the stone a perfect reflection of both you and many others.

The vision here is most definitely clear. A shy ladybug hiding from the viewer, only peeking to see if they are still there. With the perfect depth of field to enhance the feeling of this lone ladybird hidden behind it's only protection, all focus on it, certainly creates the illusion of this little thing being quite shy around anyone.

Originality is something this piece definitely has. It's simple, cute, and I definitely have not seen a shot like this up until now, although I am sure there are pictures of ladybugs viewed from very close quarters and said insect perched upon some sort of object, natural or not, but this one is one for the books. It's got that whimsy that, inclusive to the piece, brings out much more personified emotion and the "shyness" that the title implies.

A perfect score in technique, as the depth of field is something that works perfectly with this shot. Were there no blurred background or foreground, I feel this would not have been as strong as it is.

Which that brings me to impact. This piece is strong in that it captures the viewer, entrancing them and pulling them into the scene, believing very much so that this introverted invertebrate is implying it wishes to stay hidden away. Perhaps it is warming up to our presence? I am lost in this photograph, and that makes me very happy.

A wonderful score for a wonderful picture, great shot Olivia!
