On July 16, a Monday, my family and I went for a walk on the ground of our hotel. We actually wanted to take pictures of ourselves, but then I saw a dragonfly sitting on a plant looking like a palm. It just sat there and enjoyed the sunlight. First I took my zoom and took pictures of it while I was about 5 metres away from it. Then I thought: Hey, it is not moving, let's try to get nearer to it and I changed my lens to my 50mm and it still did not move! And finally I did something I could not believe myself: I put my closeup filter on and was only about 10-15cm away from this beautiful dragonfly! Haha, it was just looking at me the whole time, watching what the girl with the big black camera did. There was also a white dragonfly sitting some metres away, and I also took pictures of it, but I could not decide which one to take for my this-weeks. the other one will also be uploaded soon!
Super Bild!
I love the contrast between the green growth in the background and the red dragonfly in the foreground, it really highlights the candy colors. Also, the warping of the twig on which it's perched is a really neat effect, nice capture.
