Weary-eyed
Weakened to the very core
Traumatized
I can't endure this anymore

I'm going to black out
And be transported to a realm
Where my screams don't make a sound
Hate keeps me bound while I leave my fears to drown

I loath the days without rest
I despise the nights of endless stress

Though I can't settle for anything less
Because lower than this is death

It's like living and sleeping within tortuous realities
Even though I'm unconscious- there is no such thing as rest for me

No one knows how powerful my dreams can be
No one knows all of the graphic images I've seen

I remember sitting in the back of class
Whether it was english, history, science, or math
Staring at the clock; waiting to be free
Praying to God the teacher wouldn't pick me

Funny thing is; it's not like I wasn't prepared
I had most of the answers; though the teacher wasn't aware
But when I would raise my hand to answer a question
The teacher ignored me; never looked in my direction

This bugged me to absolutely no end
How could she pretend that I didn't understand
I'd keep my hand raised for what felt like days
But she'd call on a friend to much of my dismay

But what bugged me more; what I couldn't believe
When I didn't

These hills that I’ve traversed
Within each and every verse
Have led me to believe
In all the things I see
And where I am right now
I could never imagine how
I have gotten myself to stand
On my own two feet again

I thought I could never dream
Or at least in what I mean
Or maybe this is fake
And these thoughts I can not shake
So sad and unaware
Bad thoughts are always there
Floating in my head
Taunting me instead

I don’t want to be naïve
And believe in what I see
But this thing called pressure
Is more than I can measure
Anxiety never disappears
Even though the ones I fear
Have finally gone away

This is the third time I've been
In a hospital this year
The others didn't go well
I lost many who were dear

I ran away to find myself
Because I was once lost
I needed to see what was important
Paths were so criss-crossed

Tick-tock
The clock struck five
Another minute passed
Time controls our lives

Can I turn back the dials?
No one has to know
I'm just so very tired
Watching the time go
The clock doesn't care
An objects mocks our hearts
Numbers arranged in a circle
Could be wrong from the start

Tick-tock
Hours passing by
There's nowhere you can hide
Before it's time to die

Can I wake up?
Maybe it's a dream
Can I turn the hourglass around
And then go back to sleep?
The sand drips like water
Flowing freely in a space
Reminding sons and daughters
One day they'll be erased

Tick-tock
This noise is in my head
Not much longer now
I don't want to leav

Counting All the VoicesCounting All The Voices:

How many voices choose to speak; a debate within my head.

As I lie awake, counting cracks, on the wall above my bed.

I seem to think of random colours and things you've never seen.

But I don't like to hear the ugly voices, some are rather mean!

Though I suppose we are a loving family and thus I must accept

That when it comes to stashing bodies, we are most adept...

What kind of father throws his own son
Out into the unknown to wander alone?
A father who if he didn't think his son could make it
Would not have sent him out there to roam

What kind of daughter hides secrets
From the kindness of her mother's care?
The kind who wants to protect her mother
And instead turns to God for prayer

What kind of son walks around
Concealing drugs in his backpack?
A son who doesn't want to see
His father resorting to that

What kind of annoying brother
Gives his sister's boyfriend a hard time?
One who doesn't want to see her hurt
Because love can sometimes blind

What kind of best friend hurts you
Or

The sacrifice.the ocean sings
the bluebirds fly
the shells will scream
their silent cry
when divers come
to get the pearl
you raised so long
for a little girl
five years you were working
for the final move
get it ready in time!
For the final approve
the diver
he CRACKS you
he SMACKS you
he HACKS you
and you were just shielding
your little pearl
and while you are sighing
the diver is smiling
and while you are dying
the princess is crying
'cause you had to die
for the princess' delight.

Wearing eyeliner made of contempt and disdain.

And you quickly suppress a cough.

Lips reddened by the polite harshness he spews.
His forked tongue flickers as he prattles on
And you're really getting quite tired.

You're getting really bored now, so you take a look around the room.

At times I feel like such a child
Finding power in my naive ability
To see the weak prevail
Like old-fashioned chivalry.
I'm a child with a sparkler
Smiling very wide
Laughing as I make a snowman
From the snow that's outside
My innocence is a burden
Exhausting all possibilities
Refusing to give up
I want to dethrone the nobility
With my water gun
I can take down my enemies
Like the kid I am
Holding my paper bow steady

Remember when the only thing to do in the morning
Was lay in bed and watch cartoons?
Nothing else then seemed important
And we didn't get out of bed until noon.

Remember when after school every day
We would play tag in the park?
We couldn't be told what to say
And we'd run around like fools until dark

But now that we've become older
Making transitions to new frames of mind
Life is weighing down like boulders
And things suddenly aren't as fine

We can't help but think; we can't help but worry
Some say life will just begin
But it seems no matter how fast we hurry
We're in a race we just can't win
