This is for Mother's Day. For my Mom. She always helped me when I felt alone or when I had a problem. My Mom is one of my personal heroes. Thank you, Mommy, for being with me for 18 years now. I love you.
You created a really great color palette. The bright red of the hearts and the clear jar draw the viewer's eye to the center of the photo, and the soft peaches, pinks, and orange of the background create a warm feeling. I really like how the background directly behind the jar is almost black because it sort of frames the jar with the hearts, which also helps bring the viewer's eye to it. Your focus, of course, is what really makes the mouth of the jar the main viewing point of this piece. I also like how some of the carpet is in focus. This adds more interest to the photo, as well as texture and more focus to the jar and hearts. However, when I look at a picture, my eye instinctively goes to the brightest part of the photo, which in this case is the out of focus hearts in the very front. I wish these hearts were more in focus or at least darker so that I wasn't distracted by their brightness. I thought this piece was very nice. I love the warm color palette and the idea of it. This photo can also be thought of not only for Mother's Day but also for other occasions or themes.
The photograph itself is just precious! I love the color theme, and I absolutely love the focus! Anyway, there is absolutely no flaw here! I'm basically sitting on my chair with my jaw dropping to the floor...I seriously am just amazed by your skills! And the fact that this is for your mother made it even more special for me, because I have the same exact sentiments for my mother as you do for yours! So ummm, I really don't have much to say, I'm basically stunned. So, I'm going to do my usual thing and just "favorite" this along with the rest!
