Art Thief on deviantART - help to report!

Journal Entry: Mon Oct 29, 2012, 12:26 PM

Some minutes ago I got a message about a thief on deviantART.

His name is pridator and he gets lots of attention because of stealing others art.

Please help me report him.

Oh lovely! He has them for sale as prints, too. Whether he thinks this is a photo sharing website or not, SELLING stolen work is a dick move no matter where you are.

Judging by the descriptions on the stolen pictures, I'm pretty sure he thinks this is a photo sharing site.

I think one should inform the artists of this person so they can file a DMCA Copyright infringement on the thief. The more artists that report him, the better chance we'll get the thief suspended or banned.

The only problem is that the DA staff cant just take your word that something is stolen.... even with proof. The ORIGINAL artists must report THEIR OWN stolen work in order for the staff to take it seriously.... its gay and lame and REALLY stupid but thats how they roll here. :-/

Same with Facebook. That's why i don't bother on there anymore.

They took my friend's art and WE were the ones getting screwed over.

That always seems to be what happens to people. It's sad. A lot of people love their OCs. They created them, they made them, they gave them a life so to speak. Someone else steals it from them and then boom.

To report the problem it seems that you have to be the original author of the deviation to send a link back to the original work, therefore I don't know how to report it properly without saying I'm the owner when I'm not.

Look at the pictures being stolen, and then look on the right side bar.
There stands "Report Deviation".
Then everything is understandable, since you have got the original pictures to link back.
