Here in Serbia we are making a joke about how the actual end of the world should happen two weeks from now, by the Julian calendar the local church still keeps to. Friggin' hilarious. So much gullibility in the world.
There is a "mystic mountain" called Rtanj in my country and crazy foreigners came from all over the world to "be saved from the apocalipse". Of course, some people took a lot of cash. Friggin' hilarious, I say again.
The truth of the matter is "the modern world people made a big issue of the end of the world." The Mayan calendar is based on their calendar cycle of 5,000 years plus a few. Its no different when our 365 or 366 day year ends to start a new year. The world spent lots of money of books, tapes, bomb shelters etc. Can you imagine if we took all that money and used it on medical research, feeding the poor, or any other benefit to help our fellow humans of the plant earth
